The CN235 MPA is a multirole maritime patrol and surveillance aircraft based on the proven CN235 military transport aircraft. It represents a reference for Maritime Surveillance and Homeland Security missions as well as Search & Rescue (SAR), logistic transport and personnel transport.
Designed for Maritime Patrol
The CN235 MPA design features are fully adapted to the MPA operating environment:
- Excellent low level flying characteristics and high manoeuvrability (3g manoeuvre capability) allow safe and efficient Maritime Patrol operations.
- Optimum cruise speed for persistent surveillance and wide area coverage.
- Wide field-of-view bubble windows and low speed capability to improve visual observation during Surveillance and Search and Rescue (SAR) missions.
- Specific anti-corrosion treatments.
- Remarkable growth capacity, as it allows the installation of new equipment, as well as additional functionalities in the tactical system.
Maximum Mission Scope
Proven as MPA in Law Enforcement (Immigration control, Drug Interdiction), EEZ Control, Marine Pollution enforcement, Search and Rescue (SAR), Homeland Security and National Defence.
The CN235 MPA has earned a worldwide reputation for reliability and supportability and the result is an aircraft with high readiness and a reduced mission response time.
Considering a standard MPA configuration, the CN235 Persuader maximum endurance is over 11 hours and the time on station at 200nm distance is over nine hours.
With the Perfect Complement
The CN235 Persuader includes the Fully Integrated Tactical System (FITS) to control and integrate a complete suite of sensors. The typical configuration includes 2 operator consoles, search radar, FLIR/EO turret, AIS and Datalink.
An optional Maritime Pollution Detection System is also available and already in operation.
True Multi-mission Capability: Perfect Fulfilment
of Customer Requirements
The CN235 MPA is the most cost-effective Maritime Surveillance and Homeland Security aircraft, with multi-role capabilities and increased versatility and flexibility. The highly spacious and pressurised cabin allows:
- Wide flexibility to adapt quickly the cabin to customer needs
- Logistic cargo transport without removing the mission system consoles
The rear ramp that may be opened in-flight for aerial delivery of SAR equipment provides the CN235 MPA with true multi-mission capability. The use of the ramp in loading and unloading cabin components allows the CN235 MPA to be re-configured for multiple missions: Personnel and Cargo Transport, Medical Evacuation, Command&Control, Communications Relay, etc.
Unequalled Maritime Patrol Experience
The CN235 Persuader is in service as a MPA since 1994, operating routinely in hostile maritime environments.
It has been contracted by 10 operators from eight countries, making it the most successful in the medium MPA market. It is also in operation with the US Coast Guard, which is planning to increase the number of aircraft up to 36 units. The CN235 is also operating in Colombia, Ecuador, Ireland, Mexico, Spain and Turkey.
